It's just... Missouri

Jacob Pullen sums it up pretty well.
“With Kansas, we have the utmost respect for them and that program,” Pullen said on Thursday. “Mario (Little) is from Chicago, and Sherron (Collins) was from Chicago. I know a lot of those guys. Some of us spent the summer with the (Morris) twins. With them, it’s nothing personal. It’s a wholesome rivalry. I can’t say the same about Missouri.
“It’s just a combination of things with them. It’s just … Missouri.”

Well said.  Good luck today.

McLemore Dismissed

Ben McLemore dismissed for apparently violating an undisclosed team rule.  Not even to Lawrence yet and already learning from his upper classmen.  I do not recommend letting him near the football team, ex-girlfriends, airsoft rifles or Facebook for at least a couple of weeks.

TWOD - From the department of redundancy department

Today's TWOD (TWeet Of the Day) is brought to you by Markieff Morris (@Kansastwin21), who tweets:
F.O.E over everything
Which when decompressed actually reads "family over everything over everything".

Maybe the Morri should stick to dunks and eager elbows and leave the confusing tweets to the rest of us.

Nobody's Perfect

It is true, the Jayhawks will not have an undefeated season this year.  Fortunately, no one else will either.  Many felt like the sky was falling when we lost to a K-State team that was heading in the wrong direction.  But truth is, some team with at least two losses will win the title this year.  (Sorry SDSU, not gonna happen.)

Kansas may be back on track to make a deep run in the tourney this year.  With all of our injuries and suspensions this year we have not found the Bill Self style cohesiveness yet this year.  We have not had an opportunity to gel into a complete team.  The loss to KSU may be just what this team needed to finally become a team.
Kansas needed a late loss to Oklahoma State in 08' to start playing complete games.  I would think there is nothing like a loss to KSU to instill that kind of spark.  If I was Bill I would play the KSU court storming to my guys before every game.

My point is, everyone has lost a game in college basketball this year.  Most have lost more than one.  Although there is no clear cut #1 best team in the country this year, whichever team picks the right time to gel will have the best shot at winning it all.

Duke has not looked dominant since the loss of Kyrie Irving, and the ACC is weak.  Texas I believe has peaked too early and may be heading the other direction. Ohio State has played well, but seem to have lost the unbeatable attitude they had been carrying.  Pitt looks really good, hope we don't end up on their side of the bracket, or worst case as the #2 seed in their bracket.

KU has had more distractions and injuries this season than any in recent memory.  Some of which have distracted our guys, but some have really pulled them together as a team.  This team has opportunity to pull together and do something very special this year.  Here's to another rock chalk championship, IF we can get it together in the last three games.

March 5th

Texas is known for their meltdowns, and for KU to have a chance to win their seventh straight conference title, they are going to need a Texas-sized meltdown. It seems the best chance for Texas to leave that door open is March 5th at Baylor.

Of course, KU has to win out to make all this happen, but isn't that the assumption that all arguments are based on?
