Flop? Not Even Close.

This was a comment that needed to be shared. It was posted on KUSports.com in the comments of an article today. Credit goes to the poster. The discussion was on how big of a flop KU would be if they didn't reach the Final Four this year with our bracket.

I've seen nothing in this tournament so far if I haven't seen KU buckle down and focus on playing like a team. I'm tired of "ifs" and "maybes". I don't do brackets for this very reason - when the tournament begins, what the heck is the value of a number next to your state/college? This tourney proved...that number means exactly squat.

You know what? I could talk about "if" KU loses and "maybe" it'll be this huge flop/choke/disappointment, but I have been extremely lucky to have watched some of the greatest basketball I've ever seen this year. I've seen two kids from my home state hold a team together and practically alternate pushing this team through to wins. I've seen a young man's heart broken, and in the wake, the responsibility of taking care of his family foisted upon him, and I've seen him keep playing like there's no tomorrow and the sky's the limit. I've seen a pair of brothers punch their tickets to becoming millionaires within the next five years. I've seen a player go from being the most conceited, selfish, careless jerk on the court to being one of the most reliable, productive, work-oriented point guards with unbelievable talent at his disposal.

The words "choke" or "flop" simply don't come to mind for me like they seem to for others here.

Admirable success and one hell of a season, no matter what the result, are the only things I see.

I'm going to watch Friday's game with my father, with whom I've seen more KU games than any other person on the planet. This is the man who taught me to understand the value of integrity on the basketball court, and to play hard, no matter who the opponent is or what the stakes are. And no matter what the final score is, I will support my 'Hawks after they blessed me with a terrific display of amazing basketball.

You can keep your "chokes" and "flops" to yourself.

And we were just learning how to hate you

It's hard to believe that it's already been five years since the coke jokes were flying around at Quin Snyder's expense. In that five years, we have familiarized ourselves with a new brand of mediocrity from Mike Anderson and his "Most annoying 35 minutes of basketball". The fun was just getting started then Arkansas snatched him away leaving Missouri coach-less, title-less and with an awkwardly out-of-date website.

Our fans are better than Your fans.

"PANTS ON BACKWARDS....clap.....clap.....clap clap clap"

Hard to talk about Gottlieb without posting the video. Only 1 minute long, enjoy it. (Ending to that game was awesome.)

Pullen POY??

I think Jacob Pullen deserves player of the year as much as the Taliban deserves the peace prize. "Player of the YEAR" award, not "Player of the Last Three Weeks" award. Suspended for allegedly stealing clothes, or receiving them for somewhere in the $0 range, tells his team he will not play with them if they go to the NIT, lays an egg most of the season, but comes on strong for the last 5 games. Not exactly a POY resume in my opinion. I think KU, UT, and CU have better options for POY, some more than one. Then again Gottlieb can't even get his pants on the right way, how is he going to effectively pick the POY.
